Hull City winger discusses stuttering start to the season

Hull City winger Jarrod Bowen has said his side will do everything they can to start climbing up the table.

The Tigers have won just once out of their opening six matches in the Championship and find themselves in 20th position.

It is still early days but Grant McCann’s side will know that they need to start getting more points on the board, starting today at home to Wigan Athletic.

Bowen, who is 22 years-old, will be integral if Hull are to go on a run of form having already managed four goals in seven games so far this season in all competitions as he aims to replicate the 22 he bagged last term.

He has been speaking to the Tigers’ official club website about their start to this campaign: “Our league position doesn’t necessarily reflect how well we’ve been playing as a team. Unfortunately, lapses of concentration in spells have cost us in a number of games this season.”

“It’s frustrating but we know we’re good enough to correct it. The gaffer has mentioned it on a number of occasions now, we have to make sure we kill games off when we’re on top. We have to score more goals when we’re dominating play.”

He added: “With the chances we’ve created so far this season and the quality we have in the attacking third of the pitch, we should have scored more goals. We know the quality we’ve got and we know we’re capable of winning games. We’re only six games into the season, so there’s no-one feeling downbeat or disheartened.”
