Birmingham City man says current Blues trialist is the “best player” he has played with

Speaking to Birmingham Live, Birmingham City defender Harlee Dean has said that trainee midfielder Josh McEachran is the “best player” he has ever played with.

As reported here on The72, midfielder Josh McEachran is training with Birmingham City having been released by fellow Championship side Brentford at the end of last season.

McEachran is hoping to earn himself a deal with the club in order to return to the game. He has played in Under-23s matches for the Blues to try and prove himself to Pep Clotet in Xavi Calm’s second-string side.

Now, Harlee Dean – who McEachran played with at Brentford – has heaped praise on the midfielder, saying:

“I think he is probably the best player I have ever played with technically.

“You don’t play for Chelsea at 17 in the Champions League under Carlo Ancelotti and not be a good player on the ball. He’s the best player I have played with, he can see passes, he can break three lines with a pass, he can take it anywhere and give it to anyone.

“I think he would be a really good addition because he gives us something a bit different.

“He is a good kid, he has obviously grown up and has been training and looking good and looking sharp. He just wants to prove himself and just wants to play football, I think it’s good for the club to get him in and give him a chance – as I said I think he is a very good player if coached right and if playing in the right team.

“He wouldn’t come here and ask for stupid money, he just wants to play football, as long as he got a contract he would probably take a year just to get his foot in the door and show what he can do. He just wants to get back on track and start his career again.”
