Reading striker compared to “a young Alan Shearer” by Sky Sports pundit

While assessing Reading’s start to the new season, Sky Sports News pundit Andy Hinchcliffe has said compared Reading summer signing George Puscas to a “young Alan Shearer” amid his strong start to ike at the Madejski Stadium.

The deal that saw young Romanian striker George Puscas move from Italian giants Inter Milan to Championship side Reading for a rumoured £7 million caught the attention of football fans across the country this summer.

Inter had been looking to offload some of their out of favour strikers to fund and facilitate a move for Romelu Lukaku and having enjoyed successful time with Romania’s Under-21s in the summer, Puscas was snapped up by the Royals.

He scored four goals in as many games in the Under-21s European Championships and since joining Reading, he has impressed too, scoring three goals in six games across all competitions.

Now, he has earned the praise of Sky Sports pundit Andy Hinchcliffe, who has compared him to England legend Alan Shearer, saying that the 23-year-old’s traits and play style are similar to that of the Premier League’s all-time top goalscorer.

Reading were tipped by some for relegation but George Puscas could really help fire them up the table. They are performing well as a team and he could easily be good for 15 goals for them.

“I saw him at the Under-21 tournament in the summer for Romania and he was outstanding, like a young Alan Shearer with his work rate, strength and aerial ability. I would keep an eye on them [Reading] as well.”
