Lincoln City’s loaned in midfielder Joe Morrell has admitted that he can’t see Danny and Nicky Cowley being at Huddersfield Town for long, as he believes Premier League clubs could come calling for the former Imps men.

Huddersfield Town confirmed the arrival of Danny Cowley as manager of the Terriers earlier this week, with brother Nicky remaining as his assistant manager after departing Lincoln City. The pair leave Sincil Bank having helped them to League One from the National League, departing to test themselves in the Championship for the first time.

Speaking to FourFourTwo, Bristol City loanee Joe Morrell – who joined Lincoln City earlier this summer – has heaped praise for on former Imps manager Danny Cowley and assistant Nicky Cowley, thanking them for bringing him to Lincoln and going on to say that he thinks they are both destined for the Premier League.

“Going to Lincoln is the reason I’m here. They’ve got to take a lot of credit for this. The manager and his assistant have been excellent for me.

“They were a big reason why I joined in the first place. In terms of bringing on my game in the last few months they’ve been spot-on, and I’ll always remember that.

“I won’t be surprised to see them go right to the top. I think it’s only a matter of time – two or three years maybe – and they’ll take that next step to the Premier League. The intensity and attention to detail that they work with is fantastic. If I’m honest, I can’t see them being at Huddersfield for too long.”
