Five potential candidates to replace Dimo Maamria at Stevenage

Stevenage are looking for a new permanent manager after sacking Dimo Maamria after a poor start to the season. Here are five potential candidates for the League Two side-

Mark Sampson- The 36-year-old has been placed in caretaker charge. He has previously managed Welsh side Taff’s Well, Bristol City Women and England Women. He was appointed Stevenage’s first-team coach over the summer and could now get the full-time role assuming he does well in the games he gets to oversee.

Graham Westley- He has managed the Boro twice before and will no doubt be linked with them again now. He has won the FA Trophy, Conference (now National League) title and League Two Play-Offs with the Broadhall Way side. Westley has also previously managed Preston North End, Peterborough United, Newport County and Barnet, amongst others.

Kevin Nolan- The former Premier League midfielder has been out of management for over a year now. He has been at Leyton Orient and Notts County in the past and is a name to consider for Stevenage.

Chris Powell- He is another available manager for the Boro to potentially look at. The ex-Charlton Athletic and Huddersfield Town chief was sacked by Southend United at the back-end of last season and could be open to returning to the dugout in League Two now.

Luke Garrard- The current Boreham Wood manager has been at the helm of the National League outfit for nearly five years despite only being 33 years-old. The young boss is a name to watch out for in the Football League in the near future.
