1. Daniel Bentley – Southend (GK) £5.5 million

_64707426_southend-danielbentleyempics Having seemingly shaken off the attention of Leeds United, Southend’s young shot stopper is all set to have another strong season in League 2. He finished last year with 19 clean sheets, the most among non promoted teams, and will be aiming to push a Southend team that little bit further and gain promotion this time around. At £5.5 million he is £2 million cheaper than some of his Championship counterparts, who could be playing in an extremely attacking league this year.

2. Ian Sharps – Burton Albion (DF) £5.4 million

Ian-Sharps-Burton_3129046 The Brewer’s staunch defence propelled them to an unlikely playoff spot last season along with an impressive 72 points. Burton boasted the 4th best defence in the league, and experienced captain Sharps was the heart of their stingey back four. At 5.4 million, Sharps isn’t among the cheapest football league defenders, but he is far from the likes of Jake Buxton or Ben Turner (6.5 million each), and should provide a large number of clean sheet bonuses throughout the season.

3. Dean Cox – Leyton Orient (MF) £11 million

Dean-Cox Orient’s midfield maestro may be priced at the top end for his position, but his record last season backs it up. Contributing 12 goals and 14 assists from midfield, Cox was instrumental in pushing Orient towards promotion and will surely be determined to replicate that form this year and take The O’s all the way to the Championship.

4. Antoni Sarcevic – Fleetwood Town (MF) £10 million

20131113-as1-43516-1174857_478x359 Fleetwood had a midfield star of their own last season in Manchester City youth product Sarcevic. Hitting 13 goals from midfield, including the winning goal in the playoff final, Sarcevic was Fleetwood’s top scorer and will be integral if they are to consolidate themselves in League One. He possesses the quickness, balance and goalscoring ability to thrive in the more difficult league, and at £10 million there are nearly 100 football league midfielders more expensive in the fantasy game.

5. Sam Baldock – Bristol City (ST) £14.4 Million

0,,10794~12139653,00 Something of a no-brainer, this one. League One’s top scorer last season, Baldock smashed in 24 goals in the best season of his career. City will be looking to push on from midtable this season and Baldock will be key to their push towards the playoff positions. With Britt Assombalonga and Kieran Agard off to try their hand in the Championship, the stage is set for Baldock to dominate the League One scoring charts and propel you to the top of your fantasy league.
