Lincoln City boss Danny Cowley is the odds-on favourite for the vacant Sheffield Wednesday job.
The Owls are still looking for a new permanent manager to replace Steve Bruce at the helm.
Cowley, who is 40 years-old, took over the Imps in 2016 and won the National League title in his first season at the club, as well as guiding his side to the FA Cup quarter final. He commented on the links to Wednesday after the Imps’ game against Doncaster Rovers last night, as per a report by The72.
His Lincoln side finished 7th in their first campaign back in the Football League and also won the Checkatrade Trophy final at Wembley after beating Shrewsbury Town 1-0.
The Imps then won the League Two title last season and are now enjoying life in the third tier.
Get the Cowley brothers in now #swfc

Cowley has rejected a few clubs before, so not confident until it’s announced. #swfc

Can’t help but feel sorry for Lincoln if the Cowley talk is true. We know how it feels… but that’s football I guess #SWFC
