Danny Cowley hopeful Lincoln City can complete “one or two” more signings

Lincoln City manager Danny Cowley has said that he is hoping that he and his fellow staff can use some of their contacts in the game to try and bring in “one or two more” signings before the transfer window closes tomorrow evening.

With the summer transfer window closing on Monday evening, clubs will be hoping to press on with their final transfers. Lincoln City, who have enjoyed a strong start to the new season, are one club who are hoping to add to their ranks before tomorrow night.

Six players have made the move to the Imps so far this summer, with defenders Adam Lewis and Ben Coker, midfielders Callum Connolly (loan), Joe Morrell (loan), Jorge Grant and Jack Payne and striker Tyler Walker (loan) all making the move to Sincil Bank.

And speaking to Lincolnshire Live, Imps boss Danny Cowley has said the club will be looking to use some of their contacts and relationships to hopefully bring in one or two more. He said:

“The board have done their bit by using their relationship with Everton. We’ve now got to use some of our relationships and contacts in football and see if we can convince some of our friends to make a sporting decision.

“Our environment and culture is good for young players and hopefully we can get one or two in on that basis.

“I think it’s the flick of a coin. The closer it gets to deadline day, the more likely it is that clubs are going to make sporting decisions rather than financial decisions, so we’re hopeful that we’ll be able to bring one or two in.

“But that can change very quickly, so we’ve got to stay really focused, keep our ear to the ground and react quickly.”
