Former Hull City transfer target set to remain north of the border

Former Hull City transfer target Jack Hendry is being chased by both Kilmarnock and Motherwell according to reports by the Daily Record.

The 24-year-old Glasgow-born centre-back is presently out of favour at current club Celtic and is likely to be loaned out by The Bhoys.

Hull City manager Grant McCann is thought to have been close to signing Hendry on loan earlier this month but The Tigers couldn’t come to a financial agreement with Celtic and the Sky Bet Championship club quickly turned their attentions to other transfer targets.

It is now believed that Ladbrokes Premiership pair Kilmarnock and Motherwell are keen to sign the player as they look to turn around their disappointing starts to the new season.

After starting his career in his home city with Partick Thistle, Hendry got his first taste of the English game with Wigan Athletic. The player struggled to make any kind of impact at the DW Stadium and was loaned out to both Shrewsbury Town and MK Dons.

A move to Dundee in summer 2017 helped relaunch the defender’s career before Glasgow giants Celtic came calling for his services just six months later.

Hendry has made 26 first team appearances for Celtic but has not appeared for the club since they defeated Motherwell 4-1 at Celtic Park in February.
