Leeds United man opens up on big name departure.

Much has been made of Pontus Jansson’s departure from Leeds United this summer, but not much has been said by former team mates or staff. That is until now, as Manchester City loanee has his say.

It was, and still is by some, thought that the hasty sale of Jansson to Brentford was down to his negative influence in the changing room, even with him asking other players to join him in returning late to pre-season training, as he joined their Championship rivals for a minimal fee of £5.5m.

Pontus Jansson stirs up the Leeds United fans as was his regular act.

The sale of Jansson, who was somewhat of a fans favourite at Elland Road, has since been justified by the club as an opportunity to address Financial Fair Play and bring the club in line with the vigorous Football League remit.

Since then, fans have been at sixes and sevens in regards to whether there was any such rift between Jansson (28) and the rest of the squad, but certain Instagram and Twitter posts from players would point to the contrary.

Leeds United winger, Jack Harrison, currently on a season-long-loan from Premier League champions Manchester City, has had his brief say on the Swedish centre back, reports Leeds Live as Leeds welcome Brentford to Elland Road on Wednesday night.

Speaking with the media Harrison had this to say…

“It’ll be good to see him again and good to face him.

“Everyone knows how much of an impact he had for us last year and we’ve got prepare ourselves for that and find a way around it.”

Jansson was made captain by Brentford upon his arrival, but all has not been plain sailing at the start of the season for The Bees, maybe their fortunes will change on Wednesday?

The Leeds fans will be hoping not.
