Leeds United boss delivers fitness update on duo

Leeds United boss Marco Bielsa has delivered an update on the fitness of duo Luke Ayling and Tyler Roberts but it doesn’t look promising as reported on the official LUTV Twitter page.

The Whites’ boss has suggested that neither player will be returning soon in disappointing news for Leeds’ supporters.

The pair have not featured for the Whites this season, with Ayling undergoing ankle surgery after taking a knock prior to their pre-season campaign beginning.

Roberts has been sidelined for some time having missed the final games of last season and international duty with Wales at the start of the summer due to injury.

“Week by week they are making the evaluation of this process. Roberts will probably be available before Ayling, but I cannot confirm the time. We are not talking about players who will be back soon,” Bielsa reported.

Dallas has played well in the absence of Ayling which will come as somewhat of a positive to Bielsa. Pablo Hernandez, Mateusz Klich and Jack Harrison have stepped up to the plate in attacking midfield areas to constitute the loss of Roberts in the striking department.

Unfortunately Leeds have had injury problems to their key players for some time with Bielsa yet to have a fully fit squad to choose from since taking the reins as manager thus not enabling him to pick his strongest side for any given match.

The return of Ayling snd Roberts will inevitably provide a boost to the Leeds squad, Bielsa will be hoping that the available players can continue to step up and ensure that results don’t suffer due to their absences from the team.
