Leeds United have had many plaudits during the last twelve months, mainly due to their lofty achievements in the Championship and the beautiful, silky football they have displayed and the way in which they approach games.
Leeds beat Salford City last night in the Carabao Cup, as the pretty much newly formed club were watched by owners Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville and England Women’s boss Phil Neville.
Speaking before the game, Sky Sports pundit Gary asked his brother Phil, along with Butt and Scholes, about the size of the task ahead of Salford and where Leeds United find themselves, with the former Manchester United men flattering the Yorkshire club.
The main things to come from the conversation was that Phil Neville said that the club are building excellent foundations, with Scholes stating that it would be brilliant to see them back in the Premier League.
When Asked regarding the size of the game and the opponents, Scholes said…
“We’re playing against the biggest club we’ve ever played against”
“Tonight is a massive game against a club that it would be great to see back in the Premier League wouldn’t it?”
Speaking of Leeds’ progress, Phil Neville said…
“Under the current regime and unbelievable manager, they are starting to build foundations.”
A very professional and measured response from a duo who have no reason to laud their former rivals.
Here is that conversation led by Gary Neville…
