Derby County manager Philip Cocu has said that the club are waiting on scans on an injury to defender Jayden Bogle, while Ikechi Anya is set for another long spell on the sidelines after suffering a “serious muscle injury”.

Derby County’s young right-back Jayden Bogle was forced off the pitch in the Rams’ 0-0 draw with Swansea City, limping off the pitch in the early stages of the second half, complaining about an ankle problem. Left-back Max Lowe was forced to cover at right-back and with Bogle set to miss the Rams’ Tuesday night cup match with Scunthorpe, Philip Cocu will have to explore his options once again.

Speaking to the Derby Telegraph about the latest on Bogle’s injury’ Cocu said they are awaiting on the results of scans, hoping that he will be available to play this weekend against Stoke City.

“It is still hard to say. At this moment, he’s in hospital to get his scans to see what’s the matter, if it’s a serious injury or not.

“After the game, they put his foot in a protective shoe – but we don’t know how bad it is yet. Let’s hope it’s not too bad and he can play at the weekend.” 

Cocu had more disappointing news regarding winger Ikechi Anya, revealing that the Scottish international is set for an extended spell on the sidelines with a “serious muscle injury”.

“I don’t know if it will be three months, but quite some time, yes,” He said to the Derby Telegraph.

“It is a serious muscle injury.”
