Lee Bullen is now the odds-on favourite to take the Sheffield Wednesday job on a permanent basis.
He has been in caretaker charge since Steve Bruce left the Owls for Premier League side Newcastle United last month.
Bullen has overseen two wins out of two for the Yorkshire side in a dream start for them in the Championship this season and is now the 1/10 odds-on favourite for the job on SkyBet.
Bullen, who is 48 years-old, has been involved in Wednesday’s coaching set-up since 2011 and has been in temporary charge twice before this current stint.
He played over 300 games in his playing days with 141 appearances coming in his four years at Hillsborough. He also played for the likes of Falkirk and Dunfermline Athletic as well as spells in Australia and China.
He has now had ten competitive games altogether as manager of Wednesday in his eight years as a coach at the club, winning five, drawing three and losing two.
Bullen has proved his worth over the first two games of this campaign and the players seem to be responding to him. He knows the Owls inside out and is likely to get the job now.
Other names in the frame continue to be the likes of Gary Rowett, Chris Coleman, Tony Pulis and Chris Hughton but they may all be looking for other jobs soon.
