Five free agents who Championship clubs could sign

There are plenty of free agents available for Championship clubs still needing new signings. Here are five-

Danny Simpson- The 32-year-old was released by Leicester City at the end of the season. He helped the Foxes win the Premier League title in 2016 and has also previously played for the likes of Manchester United, Newcastle United and QPR.

Lee Cattermole- He left Sunderland after ten years at the Stadium of Light in July. The midfielder made over 250 appearances for the North-East side. He has also played for Middlesbrough and Wigan Athletic in the past.

Fraizer Campbell- The experienced striker has been linked with a move to Huddersfield Town recently and is a free agent after his contract at Hull City expired at the end of last season. He scored 12 goals for the Tigers last season in the Championship and would be a useful acquisition for any side in this league.

Ashley Williams- The Wales international spent the last campaign on loan at Stoke City in the second tier before he left Everton in May. He spent eight-and-a-half years at Swansea City and played 352 times for the Welsh side.

James Morrison- He spent twelve years at West Bromwich Albion before being released at the end of last season and is in the hunt for a new club. Morrison played 341 games for the Baggies and scored 39 goals. He was also involved in two promotions to the Premier League with the Midlands side.
