Cardiff City midfielder Loic Damour is close to joining Hearts on loan.

The 28-year-old is expected to compete a move to the Scottish Premiership today, according to a report by The Edinburgh News.

Damour has fallen down the pecking order with the Bluebirds and has been available throughout the summer.

The former France Under-20 international played just four times for Neil Warnock’s side in all competitions last season as they were relegated from the Premier League.

He joined the Welsh side on a free transfer from Bourg- Péronnas in 2017 and helped them gain promotion from the Championship in his first season at the club but lost his place in the top flight.

Damour, who is 5ft 11inc, started his career in his native France with Strasbourg before Boulogne snapped him up in 2011.

He spent two years in the French lower leagues before moving to Belgium to join second division outfit RWDM Brussels. He stayed there for a year and switched to their rivals RWS Bruxelles before going back to France with stints at EFC Fréjus Saint-Raphael and Bourg- Péronnas.

Damour has made 36 appearances for Cardiff since moving there but it appears his career at the Cardiff City Stadium is over now with a loan move to Hearts in the pipeline today.

The Scottish side will be hoping he can make an impact this season and help them climb up the league table under Craig Levein.
