According to Sky Sports (Live Transfer tracker – 10:38) Bristol City and Fulham are interested in signing Cardiff attacking midfielder Bobby Reid.

Reid, of course, only left Ashton Gate last summer in a £10million deal that saw him play in the Premier League with Cardiff City. It was a season that saw Cardiff both battle and struggle, eventually joining Fulham and Huddersfield Town in relegation from the Premier League.

Last season for the Bluebirds, Reid featured in 27 Premier League games scoring five goals and adding two assists. He moved between his more accustomed attacking midfield role (12 games) and centre-forward (10 games). Reid also proved his versatility by turning out in a variety of other positions foe Cardiff in their relegation-haunted season.

It was the season before that he exploded onto the scene for Bristol City across their 2017/18 Sky Bet Championship campaign. A 46-game ever-present, Reid scored 19 Championship goals and provided seven assists in a season that earned him his Premier League move with Cardiff City. It was such a stand-out season that it represented the bulk of his output for the Robins, which previously stood at eight goals and 11 assists in 112 games for the Ashton Gate outfit.

Reid interest – is it good interest for Bristol City and Fulham

Such a move by Fulham, indeed a return to Bristol City, will be seen as a shrewd move indeed a return to Bristol City, is one that will pay dividends for whichever club manages to land him before 5 p.m. He’s proved that he can cut it at Championship level and has also shown that he can deliver when he stepped up to the Premier League with Cardiff City.

That sort of experience does a player the world of good and is passed on in performances to any club that they subsequently play for. Bristol City know all about Bobby Reid from his time at the club and Fulham will have seen what he is capable of in both the Championship and the Premier League.
