After an impressive loan spell at Southend United, the League 2 outfit were desperate to secure the former Liverpool man’s services. Gary Johnson felt that he could make the step up another division and in turn managed to beat Phil Brown to his signature. Following his time with the Shrimpers, Sokolik has looked impressive in pre – season and is a real presence at the back. If he can consolidate a partnership with fellow new signing Aaron Martin, then Yeovil’s defensive line could be very tough to break. He will thrive on playing regular first team football and could be the rock at the back to replace Byron Webster who left for Millwall after two years with the Glovers.
