Goals were hard to come by for the Glovers in the Championship and as they return to League 1, a new striker was a certain priority for Yeovil Town. Since he was a youth player, he has been on the books at Crewe Alexandra and had made over 100 appearances for the club. Since joining Yeovil Town this summer, he has already made a name for himself in pre – season scoring 5 goals. Having been released from Crewe at the end of last season, he will want to make an impression in the same division as his former side. His most likely strike partner looks to be 21 year old Kieffer Moore who looked to be coming of age in the Championship scoring 5 goals last season as he started to appear for the first team. They will be looking to create a strong partnership and with the experienced James Hayter joining them in training and fighting for his place, they will both gain valuable experience and hope to surprise the rest of the division. Relatively unknown names have proved to be winners for Gary Johnson in previous seasons and he will see Leitch – Smith as one of the players that he has taken a gamble on, but with good reason.
