West Brom midfielder subject of loan offers from Charlton Athletic, Wigan Athletic and Shrewsbury Town

According to The Sun reporter Tom Barclay, West Brom midfielder Sam Field has been the subject of loan offers from Championship pair Charlton Athletic and Wigan Athletic, with League One outfit Shrewsbury Town also keen.

We reported here on The72 on Tuesday morning that Championship sides Charlton Athletic, Wigan Athletic and Barnsley and League One side Shrewsbury Town were interested in bringing midfielder Sam Field in on loan from West Brom.

Now, it has been revealed by The Sun’s Tom Barclay that three of those sides have made a move to bring Field in on loan. Charlton, Wigan and Shrewsbury have all made moves to bring him in on loan before the window closes, with Barnsley and Wigan Athletic also said to have made moves to bring him in on a permanent basis, which have both been rejected.

Field has shown his ability and his clear potential has shown when playing for the Baggies, but with a number of players ahead of him in the pecking order, he was not included in West Brom’s squad for their opening day win over Nottingham Forest. And, with that being said, a loan move away could benefit the young midfielder.

The 21-year-old has played 40 times in total for the West Brom senior team since making his way through the club’s youth academy. Field played 12 Championship games last season as the Baggies made their way to the Championship play-off semi-final.

Now, with the window closing on Thursday, it will be interesting to see if Field makes a loan move away to one of the said keen clubs to get some more senior experience under his belt.
