Leeds defeat see’s Lee Johnson admit Bristol City need five more players

After a 1-3 loss to promotion favourites Leeds United, Lee Johnson has come out and said that Bristol City need five more players in this transfer window, to really challenge for promotion.

The Manager said when asked about the players needed and what he saw from the game against Leeds, “When you lose big players from the team you need to rebuild again. And you’ve got to rebuild the way you structure the attacks, the defensive organisation and personalities in your side.”

He continued to say “The positives are that the three we had here last year shouldn’t take to long to get into it. I thought Taylor Moore was excellent today so i’ve got no grievance with that one.” The manager added, “And sometimes I think you have to hold your hands up and say they were better than us. In their brain, in their movement and in their tidying up.”

“They are such an honest bunch of lads and kept going until the end but there was a gulf in quality on the day. And that’s just me being honest. And I think that shows – we need five, at least five.”

Five players is what Lee Johnson thinks Bristol City need to be in with a shout of getting a play-off place or higher.

With the performance against Leeds, I don’t think Bristol City fans are hopeful, however, Leeds are one of the favourites to go up so it may not be as bad as it seems for the robins.
