Lincoln City sign former Mansfield Town, Bolton Wanderers and Port Vale striker on loan from Nottingham Forest

Lincoln City have signed former Mansfield Town, Bolton Wanderers and Port Vale striker Tyler Walker on loan from Nottingham Forest, confirmed by the club website.

League One side Lincoln City have secured the services of former Mansfield Town, Bolton Wanderers and Port Vale striker Tyler Walker on loan from Nottingham Forest.

Last season, the striker netted 26 goals in all competitions whilst on loan at Mansfield Town. He was also named in the PFA League Two Team of the Year.

Lincoln City manager Danny Cowley spoke to the club website about the signing of Tyler Walker: “We like the goals he brings, he’s very single-minded. Whenever you speak to him, it’s always about the goals.

“But he brings more than just the goals.”

“He’s got really good hold-up and link up play. He combines well, and you can play into him too. You look at Jorge (Grant), Jack (Payne), Bruno (Andrade) and Harry (Anderson), our creative players – and that ability to look forward to play in and combine off is something we can hopefully add into our game.”

Walker will replace Matt Rhead who departed Lincoln City last week to sign for Billericay. The 35-year-old won two promotions in his time with the club, firstly promotion from the National League and then the League Two title last season.

Lincoln City released a statement upon his departure: “Everyone at Lincoln City wishes Matt the very best for the future, and we thank him for his dedication to the cause during his time at Sincil Bank”
