Bristol City’s search for Webster replacement begins

With the sale of Adam Webster imminent, the robins have already started searching for somebody to fill his boots.

Taylor Moore, Nathan Baker, Zak Vyner and Bailey Wright are all players that Bristol City have that could fill the void that Webster will leave, however the robins have been linked with other centre half’s aswell, one being Cieran Clark. However, new Newcastle boss Steve Bruce has ruled out any move for Clark.

Another that Bristol City were looking at was Matt Clarke from Brighton and Hove Albion, but he has made a loan move to fellow Championship team Derby County.

So that means the robins will have to look elsewhere, to find a ball playing centre half similar to Adam Webster, and with £18 million upfront it seems they will have a lot of money to splash. If City don’t find a replacement for the 24 year old then one of Taylor Moore, Nathan Baker, Bailey Wright or Zak Vyner will have to be the one to step up and fill the boots of Webster.

Overall, the sale of Adam Webster is great business for Bristol City after buying Webster from Ipswich for £3.5 million. However, fans will be disappointed to lose what most people see as the best player in the whole squad. This also will give the robins more money to spend on a proven forward that they are desperate for, however they are hard to come by.
