Leeds United have been given a chance to sign Fenerbache player- Michael Frey.
According to Ajansspor in Turkey, Fenerbahce striker Michael Frey has seen his move to Caykur Rizespor fall through at the last minute.
Frey, 25, hit four goals in 16 games for Fenerbahce last season, and has subsequently been linked with a move away from the club.
Frey is available for transfer this summer after he failed to make an impact a Fenerbahce last season.
Fotomac reported last month that two teams in the battle for Frey were Caykur and Leeds, and with the former now seemingly out of the race, Leeds may have a free run.
Frey began his professional career at BSC Young Boys in his native Switzerland, where he impressed to earn a £2.7 million move to Lille. When that didn’t go to plan, the 25-year-old returned to the Stade de Suisse via a loan spell at Luzern. But he stayed for just one season before switching to FC Zurich, and Fenerbahce a year after that – for another £2-million-plus fee.
In other news, Burnley have agreed a deal to sign young Northern Irish goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell.
Leeds United have accepted an offer in the region of £3.5m for the 22-year-old.
The deal will also contain a sell-on clause. Peacock-Farrell is highly rated by Burnley boss Sean Dyche.
He mostly spent the second half of the season on the bench following the arrival of Kiko Casilla at Elland Road.
Despite a lack of club action Peacock-Farrell started all four of Northern Ireland’s Euro 2020 qualifying games.
