Preston North End are in talks to sign Aston Villa winger Andre Green on a season-long loan.
The Lilywhites are hoping to conclude a deal to lure the 21-year-old to Deepdale, according to a report by Football Insider.
Alex Neil has identified the pacey wide man as an ideal replacement for Callum Robinson, who left the Championship side for Sheffield United last month.
Green, who is an ex-England Under-20 international, is being allowed to leave top flight outfit Villa on loan next season for more first team opportunities.
The Solihull-born winger joined the Midlands side aged nine and rose up through the youth ranks at Villa Park. He made his senior debut in a Premier League fixture against Tottenham Hotspur in March 2016.
Green has since made 45 more appearances for Villa, scoring twice. He was part of Dean ‘ Smith’s squad who won the Play-Offs last season.
He spent the first half of the last campaign on loan in League One with Portsmouth and bagged five goals in 12 appearances for Kenny Jackett’s men.
Joining Preston would be a good opportunity for Green to impress in the Championship and show what he can do when playing regularly at this level.
The Lancashire side will be keen to get the deal done as soon as possible to boost their attacking options ahead of the season starting on Saturday.
