Ipswich Town looking to hijack Blackpool move for Blackburn Rovers striker

Ipswich Town are looking to sign Blackburn Rovers striker Joe Nuttall.

The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Blackpool but the Tractor Boys are looking to jump in ahead of their League One rivals, according to journalist Alan Nixon on Twitter.

Paul Lambert’s side have so far managed to sign the likes of Tomas Holy, James Norwood and Luke Garbutt but are keen on getting some more deals done this week before they embark on their third tier journey.

They may be after Nuttall to offer more options and depth up front. He is likely to leave Blackburn for more first team opportunities.

Nuttall is not a regular for Rovers but was part of Tony Mowbray’s side that won promotion from the third tier in 2018.

He started his career at Manchester City and rose up through the youth ranks at the Etihad Stadium. He never made a senior appearance for the Premier League giants and left in 2015 to join Scottish Premiership outfit Aberdeen.

Nuttall played four times for the Dons and later had loan spells at Stranraer and Dumbarton before he was released in 2017.

He went on trial to Blackburn and they decided to offer him a contract two years. He could now be on the move again with both Ipswich and Blackpool eyeing up a move. Where will he end up?
