Doncaster Rovers eye move for Aston Villa midfielder

Doncaster Rovers are keen on signing Aston Villa midfielder Aaron Tshibola.

The 24-year-old is surplus to requirements at Villa Park and is being allowed to leave this summer, according to a report by the Daily Mail.

The new Donny boss Darren Moore is eager to hand him an escape route from the Premier League side to help bolster his midfield options ahead of the upcoming season.

Tshibola, who is a DR Congo international, has spent the past season-and-a-half on loan in the Scottish Premiership with Kilmarnock and impressed there under Steve Clarke.

However, he will not be returning north of the border again for the next campaign and looks likely to stay in England.

Aston Villa paid a hefty £5 million to sign him from Reading in July 2016 on a four-year deal but his move to the Midlands has not worked out.

He has played just 10 times for them and has been shipped out on loan three times to Nottingham Forest, MK Dons and Killie.

Tshibola started his career in the Reading academy and rose up through the youth ranks at the Madejski Stadium before going onto play 17 times for them. He also had a loan spell at Hartlepool United as a youngster.

He needs to leave Villa permanently this summer and joining Moore’s Doncaster would be a good move for him.
