Nottingham Forest attacker subject to interest from Rotherham United and Oxford United

According to a report from the Daily Mail, League One pair Rotherham United and Oxford United have both expressed interest in Nottingham Forest’s out of favour attacker Gboly Ariyibi.

Nottingham Forest manager Sabri Lamouchi is looking to move on a number of the club’s out of favour players before the end of the summer transfer window, with the likes of Luke Steele, Michael Hefele and Jason Cummings among those to be told to find new clubs.

Another player who has been deemed surplus to requirements at the City ground is attacker Gboly Ariyibi. Ariyibi has struggled to make an impact and he is expected to make a move away from the club this summer, with two League One sides expressing an interest in the former Chesterfield man.

Rotherham United and Oxford United are both interested in the American winger as Paul Warne and Karl Robinson look to bolster their ranks ahead of the new season. Oxford United are in the market for a new winger with star man Gavin Whyte likely to make a move away from the club this summer, with Championship new boys Cardiff City interested.

Ariyibi, 24, has not made one appearance for Nottingham Forest since joining from Chesterfield in 2017. He has spent time out on loan Milton Keynes Dons, Northampton Town and most recently Motherwell.

The Scottish side had expressed an interest in signing Ariyibi on a permanent basis, but if they still hold an interest in the former loanee, they look set for a fight to try and secure his services, with Rotherham and Oxford also keen.
