Leeds United linked winger Kent exit from Liverpool edges closer – fee mentioned

According to Scottish publication the Daily Record Leeds United and Rangers target, Ryan Kent has taken a step closer to him leaving Liverpool.

The Daily Record report that Kent seems “destined to leave Anfield” after scrubbing mentions of Liverpool from his Instagram account. This move is usual the precursor to a move away from a club that those players more active on social media make.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s comments after yesterday’s friendly loss to Napoli paved a neater path for Kent to tread in regard to the situation between the player and the Reds. Speaking candidly of Ryan Kent and his position at the club, Klopp said in words carried by the Mail Online: “The time is over, I think, for loans because of his age. The players need to find a place where they can settle. A loan is not an option.”

This could give added hope to Leeds United, a side clearly linked to the exciting youngster by many in the media. The Whites and Bielsa have been keen on Kent, there is little doubting that. Legendary Argentinian coach Bielsa is even said to have scouted the Oldham-born Liverpool winger at the Reds recent friendly vs Bradford City at Valley Parade. Kent started that game on the left side of a three-pronged attack, a game that Liverpool won 3-1.

The news that Kent has removed mentions of Liverpool from his Instagram account is seen as important indicators by some. Yet, it alone doesn’t provide strong ground as to where a club would stand when it comes to interest. What is more solid is that the Daily Record mention that an interested party “would have to cough up the quoted fee of £10million.”

Kent starred on loan for Rangers in the SPL last season, impressing under former Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard at the Scottish club. He featured in 23 games for Gerrard’s Rangers, scoring six goals and adding a further six assists. Marcelo Bielsa is known to be keen on him and what he brings to the table with his game.

That doesn’t mean that Leeds United are going in for Ryan Kent, not al all. However, knowing Liverpool’s stance, and the price range they are looking at, it does make it easier for the Whites to get things into order if they are going to pursue their fourth identified summer window target.
