The 26-year-old has three years left on his current contract at Reading, having only been signed from Coventry City last summer.
The Scottish international fell out of favour at Reading last season and as a result, was sent on loan to Hibernian in January.
The Scottish side were keen to make his deal permanent this summer, but couldn’t match Reading’s valuation for the player.
Marc McNulty has been one of a number of senior players who have been exiled by Reading boss Jose Gomes this summer, as he looks to freshen up the squad.
There was a major hint that McNulty’s move out of Reading was finalised, with fellow exiled player David Meyler posting a picture yesterday with the caption the ‘The last supper with @sparkymcnulty.
