Birmingham City reject bid for want away star

Birmingham City have rejected a bit for Tom Adeyemi from an “unnamed Championship club”, according to the club’s official website.

It was reported yesterday that the 22-year-old midfielder, despite being made vice club-captain had handed in a transfer request and his signature was being courted by a number of Championship clubs.

The Blues official website released a simple statement earlier today:  “A formal offer from an unnamed Sky Bet Championship club for the 22-year-old has today (Tuesday) been rejected.

“The club will now meet with the player’s representatives to discuss the transfer request further. The club has no further comment to make.

Birmingham City manager Lee Clark will be hoping to hold onto Adeyemi who was one of the few positives of a relegation threatened season.
