Derby County targeting Holland and PSV midfielder

Derby County are being linked with a move for PSV midfielder Bart Ramselaar.

The 23-year-old is being allowed to leave the Dutch side this summer and Pride Park has been tipped as a potential destination for him, according to a report by Derbyshire Live.

Ramselaar, who is a Holland international with three caps to his name so far in his career, knows the new Rams’ boss Phillip Cocu well from their time at PSV together.

He played a key part in PSV’s Eredivisie title winning season in 2017/18 under Cocu and could now reunite with him in England having been told he is now surplus to requirements at the Philips Stadion.

Ramselaar started out as a youngster with a spell at Roda ’46 before he was snapped up by FC Utrecht. He played for Holland at youth levels U19, U20 and U21 in his early career before establishing himself as a key player for Utrecht and bursting onto the senior international stage.

He was snapped up by PSV in 2016 and has since played 78 times for them altogether. However, his time there is set to come to an end this summer after three years.

Derby have so far managed to bring in Scotland international Graeme Shinnie on a free transfer from Aberdeen and midfielder Kieran Dowell on loan from Everton. They could now set their sights on Ramselaar for what would be an impressive coup if they can pull it off.
