Josh Brownhill – Preston North End
When you start attracting the attention of sides like Arsenal, you know you might have someone special on your hands and Josh Brownhill has shown flashes of real brilliance. Having burst into the first-team squad last season, Brownhill showed his ability from the off when he scored on his first start against Gillingham.
He’s continued into the pre-season but seems to have added that scoring touch, having notched five goals in warm-up matches. That includes a sublime 35-yard free-kick that had everyone applauding in a recent friendly against near-neighbours Burnley. Adding more goals to his game will help him grow, especially if he sees more game time under Simon Grayson and he will be a vital part of any promotion push for Preston this season.
