Huddersfield Town midfielder could be making a return to the Premier League

Huddersfield Town could be about to lose midfielder Philip Billing to Premier League side Bournemouth according to Football Insider.

The Cherries are in advanced talks to sign Billing as they look to add further additions ahead of the Premier League season returning.

It is believed that Billing is wanting to leave the Terriers following their relegation from the top flight earlier this summer and he could now be set for a move down South to Eddie Howe’s side.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has admired Billing for some time and has now identified him as one of his top transfer targets.

Billing made 43 Premier League appearances for Huddersfield during the last two seasons and has played 91 first-team matches in total for the club.

Huddersfield appear to have resigned themselves to losing the Danish midfielder as they have failed to give him a squad number for the new season.

Howe is looking to make some improvements to his midfield options and believes that the 23-year-old would be the ideal fit.

It would be wise for Huddersfield to allow Billing to leave if he has the desire to go as he enters the final year of his contract at The John Smith’s Stadium.

Billing has spent six years at Huddersfield and they will have to look to replace him as they aim to make an immediate return to the Premier League.

The sticking point at present is the valuation with Huddersfield demanding £17million for the player but Bournemouth are yet to meet that price.
