Peterborough United man features for Southend United during trial after spell with Carlisle United

We reported here on The72 earlier this summer that Carlisle United had brought in winger Isaac Buckley-Ricketts for a trial period with the club, as he looks to find a new club ahead of the upcoming season. However, after spending time training with the Cumbrians and featuring in pre-season friendlies for Stephen Pressley’s side, he was unsuccessful in his attempts to earn a deal with the club.

Now, he has linked up with League One outfit Southend United, playing the entire 90 minutes in a 1-1 draw with Dagenham and Redbridge. Buckley-Ricketts will be hoping that he made a good impression in his time on the pitch despite it being a relatively underwhelming performance from the Shrimpers.

After a dismal first season with Posh, he joined the likes of Callum Cooke, Aaron Chapman, Matt Stevens and Mark O’Hara in being placed on the transfer list by Darren Ferguson and will be hoping to find a new club soon with the start of the new season just a matter of weeks away now.

He played just two games across all competitions for Peterborough United last season, with the vast majority of his game time coming for the club’s Under-23s side. With Steve Evans, the man who brought him to London Road, long gone, it seemed an uphill battle for the 21-year-old to forge a career at Posh, even with the manager change.

But, the former Man City starlet will be hoping he can make a bigger at his next club, with the new season just around the corner.
