Last season, Leeds United achieved a third-place finish in the Sky Bet Championship despite having a thin squad that was thinned much further due to what was an escalating injury list.
At the final count, there were upwards of 50 incidents that required time on the treatment table for a Leeds United side that was stretched beyond capacity at times. With the medical staff beavering away hard in the background, it was often necessary to turn to the Under-23s to plug the ever-increasingly more obvious threadbare gaps that were appearing.
Now, as the following photograph confirms, the Leeds United injury curse has struck early with Kemar Roofe pictured in an aircast:

Kemar Roofe spent a portion of the 2018/19 Sky Bet Championship campaign out of action through injury. Despite this, the former Oxford United striker ended the season as the Whites top scorer, netting 14 times in just 32 league games and adding a further goal in the one play-off appearance he made.
Roofe is a vital part of Marcelo Bielsa’s attack and when on form, is often unplayable. His intelligent runs in behind defenders, his ability to find space in the box and his timing are all vital to the Leeds United cause. Any amount of time out of this season is bound to hurt the Whites and fans will readily tell you that it wasn’t the same Roofe that came back after his injury last time out.
It is that sense of dread and fear that has gotten Leeds United fans commenting on Twitter as they face up to the stark reality that such a vital cog in the Bielsa machine is likely out of action for a while. Here’s what some of them are saying on Twitter in response to this.

Need a striker even more now, if Roofe is crocked for upto 6 weeks

I maybe wrong but that picture looked a lot like last year’s injury when kemar had cast on then

Roofe in a leg brace. We were so stupid to think the injuries couldn't be worse than last season, we are gonna have 2 players left by start of season at this rate 😭😭

If Roofe is out for 6 weeks then Bamford needs to be firing on all cylinders

Everyone relax. That's not a protective boot on Roofe's leg. He's been taking part in a traditional Aussie custom #lufc pic.twitter.com/bHA26NSJRh

If it's true and Roofe is out for 6 weeks and we don't bring in another striker, even a loan option you' would have have to worry where goals are going to come from, not really fair to expect Edmondson to step up straight away.
