Lincoln City and Salford City prepare swoop for League Two skipper

According to a report from Football Insider, League One side Lincoln City and League Two new boys Salford City are both interested in centre-back Krystian Pearce, who currently plays for League Two side Mansfield Town.

With the start of the new season just a matter of weeks away, League One new boys Lincoln City and League Two side Salford City are stepping up their preparation for the new season as they both get ready to test themselves in new divisions after winning promotion last season.

And, it has been claimed that the two clubs have both identified Mansfield Town centre-back Krystian Pearce as a target ahead of the new season.

Pearce is the skipper for the Stags and has been a mainstay in their side since joining from Torquay United in 2015, so they will be determined to hold on to him. But, Lincoln and Salford are ready to try and take the 29-year-old away from Mansfield this summer with one year remaining on his contract at Field Mill.

Pearce has amassed plenty of Football League experience over the course of his career, coming through the youth academy at Birmingham City before going on to play for the likes of Notts County (loan and permanent), Port Vale, Scunthorpe United (loan), Peterborough United (loan), Huddersfield Town, Barnet and Torquay United before playing for Mansfield Town.

In his time with Mansfield, Pearce has played 186 times for the club over the course of four seasons, scoring 13 goals and laying on seven assists along the way.
