“We need a CB and a striker!” That’s pretty much a lot of what you’ll hear echoing if you ask Leeds United fans what the club need ahead of the season’s start in August.
Many seem not convinced with Patrick Bamford and Kemar Roofe, that’s ‘many’ and not ‘all’, mind. At centre-back this is starker, what with the sale of Pontus Jansson to Brentford with stories of disruptive influence sounding around social media and in Leeds United fan circles.
As per usual, Leeds United continue to be linked with players – that is par for the course for any side at the stage of the transfer window. Some are realistic targets, others such as Gianluigi Buffon and Francesco Totti are the stuff of a heavily edited version of Football Manager.
Any link of any level of credulity brings Whites fans chomping at the bit to Twitter. It’s what has happened with the following:

In a world driven by social media influences and content, all it takes is a ‘Like’ or ‘Comment’ from a player on platforms such as Twitter or Instagram to spark fans into some form of frenzy. That’s what has happened with this set of pictures from TSG Hoffenheim, especially the one top-right of striker Andrej Kramaric snapped taking a selfie.
Zoom in and you will see that Kramaric is taking a selfie with a phone in a Leeds United case bearing the ‘Strongbow’ sponsorship. This particular shirt sponsorship was active between 2000-2003 and represented the height of success for Leeds United in the modern era.
Yet, Kramaric is a £34million-rated striker according to website Transfermarkt. He’s a 46-cap, 13-goal Croatian international who joined Hoffenheim from Leicester City in July 2016 for a near £10million fee, signing up after a half-season loan deal. He’s also got a contract until the end of June 2022 – so with three years left to run.
He featured in 30 1.Bundesliga games for the Germans last season, scoring 17 goals and adding four assists. Add to that five goals in six Champions League games last season and a picture starts to develop that takes this beyond the usual ‘player linked because…’ comments and interest.
That, however, hasn’t stopped Leeds United fans commenting in droves on Twitter. Here’s what some of them have been saying.

Kramaric is Leeds and he knows he is.

I actually have no idea why Andrej Kramaric has a Leeds United phone case. Up there with photos I did not expect to see today.

However, it is a simple ‘case’ to solve that doesn’t even require you to call in Columbo and his aged coat to solve.
Sorry to all Leeds fans thinking that Kramaric is a Leeds fan. Just taking a selfie video with my phone as part of the Bundesliga Media Days. 😅

‘Case’ solved so it seems. No £34million striker coming to Elland Road; Leeds fans will have to put up with Patrick Bamford and Kemar Roofe so it seems.
