Leeds United man on the lookout for new club after being deemed surplus to requirements by Bielsa

Football Insider has reported that defender Laurens De Bock has accepted that his time at Leeds United has come to an end, telling his agent to find him a new club ahead of the upcoming season.

It has been reported over the course of the summer that Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa is looking to move on a number of fringe players from his time ahead of the new season, and El Loco has done just that. The likes of Hadi Sacko and Tyler Denton have been moved on and players such as Yosuke Ideguchi, Caleb Ekuban and Vurnon Anita are expected to follow.

Now, having been given the green light to make a move away from Elland Road this summer, left-back Laurens De Bock has told his agent to find him a new club with three years still remaining on his contract with the Whites.

The 26-year-old has no place in the plans of Marcelo Bielsa heading into the new campaign. He sits behind the likes of Barry Douglas, Eszgjan Alioski, Stuart Dallas and youngster Leif Davis in the pecking order at Elland Road.

And, although a return to loan club KV Oostende is unlikely, De Bock is likely to make a return to his native Belgium.

De Bock has played just seven times for Leeds United since joining back in January 2018, heading out on loan to KV Oostende for last season after the arrival of Bielsa. He played 23 times during his time back in Belgium, scoring two goals along the way.
