Luton Town expected to make more signings over the next two weeks

Luton Town are expected to make some more signings over the next two weeks ahead of their upcoming Championship season.

The Hatters have so far managed to bring in experienced defender Martin Cranie, ex-Sunderland and Wigan Athletic winger Callum McManaman, former Millwall midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe and defender Brendan Galloway from Everton.

However, their squad is still looking thin after the departures of Jack Stacey and James Justin to AFC Bournemouth and Leicester City respectively meaning the League One champions still have plenty of work to do.

Their manager, Graeme Jones, will be a busy man over the next couple of weeks as he hunts for some Championship experience to bring into his squad.

Defender Matty Pearson, who played a key role in Luton’s promotion last season, has said his side need reinforcements, as per a report by Dunstable Today: “We need to get a few more in. You see it today (Saturday at Bedford), we’ve got a pretty small squad, there’s quite a few playing full games so early on. But they (Town’s board) know what they’re doing, as players we don’t get involved in that.”

“They know what they’re doing and we just focus on ourselves, getting fit and trying to strive forward as a team.”

Luton kick-start their second tier campaign with a tricky home fixture at Kenilworth Road against Jonathan Woodgate’s Middlesbrough two weeks today and will be hoping to have a few new faces playing for them.
