Millwall boss confident of striking deal for new signing

Millwall boss Neil Harris is confident of making at least one signing next week.

The Lions are in talks with a couple potential acquisitions as they look to boost their squad ahead of the start of the Championship season in just over two weeks time.

The London side have so far managed to bring in goalkeeper Frank Fielding, Alex Pearce, Matt Smith, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Connor Mahoney but want more signings.

Harris has said, as per a report by London News Online: “The work hasn’t stopped just because we have been out there. The conversations have been going backwards and forwards. I would be confident of concluding at least one deal next week – a loan or a permanent for a player.”

“We have got two deals that are quite a long way down the line. We are getting closer with them. I’m not making assumptions after this summer transfer window. Whether we get anyone in before Sunday – probably not. But Wednesday I would be more confident.”

Harris is happy with the work his side have done in the transfer market. He praised new signing Bodvarsson: “He is a mobile striker, more in the ilk of Lee Gregory than a Matt Smith. Jon Dadi is someone I see as quite similar to Steve Morison when he first came to the club. Moro was still a little raw but he had the energy and legs to work the channels – to get in behind teams and upset defenders.”
