Birmingham City have signed midfielder Dan Crowley from Willem II for an undisclosed fee, as announced by their official club website today.
The 21-year-old has penned a two-year deal at St Andrews, with an option for a third.
Crowley started his career in the academy at the Blues’ rivals Aston Villa before moving to Arsenal in 2013. He never made a senior appearance for the Gunners but enjoy loan spells away at Barnsley, Oxford United and Go Ahead Eagles.
He moved to the Dutch Eredivisie in 2017 to join Willem II and went onto play 50 times for them, scoring seven times. He also had a loan spell at SC Cambuur in the second tier the season before last.
Crowley is still young and could have a bright future ahead of him at Birmingham. He will offer the Blues more options and depth in the midfield department.
He has become Pep Clotet’s first signing since Garry Monk’s departure as he looks to prepare for next season in the Championship.
Here is how the Birmingham fans have reacted on Twitter to the signing of Dan Crowley today-
