4 players that should impress for Birmingham City in 14/15

Demarai Gray

dimmyBirmingham are without a senior left-sided midfielder which will create a gap in which 18-year-old Demarai Gray will be hoping to fill.

The youngster joined Blues as under-11 and made his breakthrough last year, his debut coming as a 91st minute substitute during a 4-0 win against Millwall in October 2013, which turned out to be the last victory at St Andrew’s for Birmingham all season.

Gray went on to make nine appearances in all competitions, scoring his first senior goal against Blackburn in April on the way to being voted Birmingham’s Academy Player Of The Season.

The England U18 international possesses great pace and skill and will be hoping to showcase his talents further to the St Andrew’s crowd during the 2014/15 campaign.

Blues’ Academy graduate Gray, who cited former Birmingham winger Nathan Redmond as “the biggest influence on him since joining the club”, is a direct and dangerous player and with a possible gap on the left wing, the local lad could fulfil his obvious potential sooner rather than later.
