Ex-Crystal Palace, Luton Town and Yeovil Town midfielder on trial at Wycombe Wanderers

Free agent midfielder Jake Gray is on trial at Wycombe Wanderers.

The 23-year-old is hoping to impress and earn a trial with the League One side, according to a report by Ciderspace.

Gray, who has played for the Chairboys before as a youngster, was part of the Wycombe side who played Barnet in a friendly on Saturday.

He is a free agent after being released by Yeovil Town at the end of the season following their relegation to the National League and is in the hunt for a new club.

Gray started his career at Wycombe but left in 2012 to join Crystal Palace. He made his first team debut for the Eagles in a League Cup tie against Walsall in August 2014 and went onto play once more for the Premier League side.

He spent time away from Selhurst Park on loan at Cheltenham Town during the 2014/15 season before spending the campaign after in the fourth tier with Hartlepool United.

Luton Town signed him on a permanent deal in 2016 and he made 28 appearances for the Hatters in all competitions, chipping in with two goals before leaving for Yeovil Town after a single season at Kenilworth Road.

Gray was a key player for the Glovers and played 71 times for them but could not prevent them from slipping out of the Football League in May. He will now be hoping his former club Wycombe can throw him a lifeline.
