Sheffield Wednesday Striker Set To depart To Premier League New Boys

Premier League new boys Norwich City are set to sign Jordan Rhodes from Sheffield Wednesday.

The Yorkshire outfit are keen to offload the former Huddersfield striker off their wage bill but there has been a reluctance from clubs to match the £10 million valuation that Wednesday have slapped on the striker.

As a result TEAMtalk are now reporting that Wednesday are happy for Rhodes to go back to Norwich on a season long loan deal.

Rhodes was part of the side that won promotion to the Premier League as Champions from the Championship last season. He made a total of 36 appearances, contributing six goals. He played a backup role to Teemu Pukki who had a sensational season. He is likely to play the same role again next season.

The former Blackburn Rovers man die shave experience playing at the top level. Middlesbrough signed him during the 2016/17 season when they were in the top flight and he made handful of appearances but failed to find the net as Boro were relegated back to the Championship at the first attempt.

Norwich do need to bolster their squad ahead of their return to the Premier League and it is rumoured that Daniel Farke was keen on keeping Rhodes who played the role of an impact player to perfection last season.

The problem that Sheffield Wednesday face is that they risk losing Rhodes on a free transfer next summer as his contract ends in 2020. The Owl’s won’t want to lose a man who was once one of the most prolific strikers in English football for nothing.
