We reported here on The72 earlier this summer that Leeds United were among the sides interested in Ostersunds FK attacker Hosam Aiesh, and the Swedish forward has added fuel to the fire in his latest comments regarding transfer speculation.

Speaking to Fotballskanalen (quotes via Inside Futbol), Ostersunds FK forward Hosam Aiesh has fuelled transfer speculation when asked about reported interest from Championship side Leeds United and French club Amiens SC.

When asked about the reported interest from Leeds United and Amiens, Aiesh said:

“There is no smoke without fire. There are clubs that are correct, then there are clubs that I do not know if that is true. They can be interested and watch matches without me knowing about it.

“I actually keep track of who is sitting in the stands,” Aiesh went on to say.

“But there is great interest and there have been many phone calls about my situation.

“It looks positive [for a move], but if it does not happen now, I will continue to perform here at Ostersunds and do as good as possible.”

Aiesh has been heavily linked with a move away from the Swedish side this summer, with a number of sides credited with interest. And it has been said that he has been told by Ostrsunds that he can leave the club if they receive the right offer.

Championship trio Middlesbrough, Nottingham Forest and Reading have been linked alongside Leeds, as have Amiens SC. It is also claimed that Aiesh was the subject of a rejected bid from an MLS side.

So far this season, Aiesh has made nine appearances, scoring one goal and netting three times along the way. Aiesh came through the youth academy of Swedish side BK Hacken, featuring heavily for their Under-18 and Under-21 sides. He only made two appearances for the club’s first-team before making a move to Ostersunds. He has gone on to play 107 times for the club, scoring 17 and providing 24 assists along the way.
