Leeds and Manchester United pair share conversation ahead of Australia friendly.

Pablo Hernandez has revealed what was said in a conversation with a Manchester United player while on pre-season tour in Australia, there is an air of respect between the Spaniard and his counterpart.

Leeds United flew out to OZ on Sunday in order to play two pre-season friendlies, one will be against Western Sydney and the other is a highly anticipated tie against old foes and rivals Manchester United.

According to The Mirror, Juan Mata and Leeds’ Pablo Hernandez have been chatting prior to the two clubs meeting in a friendly game in Australia this week, with Hernandez revealing the contents of the conversation.

The 34-year-old said…

“When I arrived here, I texted him and he texted me ‘See you Wednesday.’

“He told me he wants my shirt and I want his shirt. I have a lot of his shirts, but I want the new one.

“He was my team-mate for four years in Valencia and my room-mate and I’m happy to play against him.”

Mata has just signed a new deal at Old Trafford, keeping him at the club until 2021 having already completed six seasons in Manchester.

Hernandez will be revelling in another opportunity to push for promotion with Leeds United after narrowly missing out last time around, he will feel as though he has unfinished business in West Yorkshire following a “team of the season” showing last season.
