According to respected journalist Alan Nixon, League One side Blackpool are also interested in free agent centre-back Ryan Tafazolli, who has been training with Championship side Hull City.

Over the course of the past few weeks, it has been widely reported that centre-back Ryan Tafazolli has been training with Championship outfit Hull City, travelling with Grant McCann’s squad on a pre-season training tour of Spain.

And, the former Peterborough United man featured in a friendly against League Two new boys Leyton Orient, impressing at centre-back in a 2-2 draw against Orient. Now, it has been claimed but The Sun journalist Alan Nixon that Blackpool are also keen, saying on Twitter:

The Tangerines are looking to further bolster their defensive options this summer and new manager Simon Grayson has reportedly identified Tafazolli as a potential option. However, Hull City have the upper hand.

Tafazolli left Peterborough United at the end of the season and he is determined to make a move to the Championship after proving himself in League One with The Posh and in League Two with Mansfield Town. And, with former Posh boss Grant McCann keen on him, it can be said that a Hull move for Tafazolli is looking likely. But, in the event that a move fails to materialise, Blackpool could pounce.

Tafazolli played 131 times during his three seasons at Peterborough United, becoming a mainstay in the club’s backline under the management of Grant McCann, Steve Evans and Darren Ferguson. Now, it awaits to be seen where he starts the new season.
