Former Blackburn Rovers midfielder Craig Conway and former Preston North End midfielder Ben Pringle are on trial at Bolton Wanderers, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Former Blackburn Rovers midfielder Craig Conway and former Preston North End midfielder Ben Pringle are both on trial at League One side Bolton Wanderers.

Alan Nixon tweeted: “Bolton. Conway ex Blackburn and Pringle ex Tranmere. Both in for a look.”

Ben Pringle signed for Rotherham United in 2011, where he made over 150 appearances for the Millers in four years, scoring 22 goals and being named in the PFA League One team of the year in their 2013/14 promotion season.

After four successful years with the Yorkshire club, Pringle signed for Fulham in the summer of 2015, featuring for the Cottagers in the Championship, before signing for Ipswich Town on loan during the 2015/16 season.

Pringle then became North End’s seventh summer signing in June 2016.

Craig Conway joined Blackburn Rovers in January 2014 for an undisclosed fee and he made 200 appearances for the club, and he was part of the squad that guide Blackburn Rovers to win promotion from League One in 2018.

The midfielder managed to make 26 appearances in all competitions last season as Blackburn Rovers finished 15th in the Sky Bet Championship.

Craig Conway said this to the club website after leaving the club: It’s been amazing. I talked about the highs and lows, but I think there’s been far more highs in my time at Blackburn Rovers. Genuinely, why it’s been such a hard decision, was because I’ve enjoyed it so much. I love the club, I really took it to my heart.”
