Brentford Maupay latest – Premier League side joins chase with “mammoth” offer readied

Brentford striker Neal Maupay’s continued goalscoring exploits have been attracting the attention of a number of clubs over the course of the summer transfer window, and another Premier League club have reportedly set their sights on the Frenchman.

Premier League side West Ham United are ready to make a big money to move to try and bring Brentford striker Neal Maupay to the Olympic Stadium ahead of the new season, Football Insider has reported.

Premier League new boys Sheffield United have been heavily linked with a move for Maupay this summer, as have Aston Villa and La Liga giants Sevilla. And with West Ham now interested, the Bees could look be in for a bidding war over their star man.

West Ham have reportedly prepared a big contract offer for Maupay, with a five-year deal ready to be offered for the 28-goal striker, including a hefty pay rise. Brentford have told the Hammers that they will have to fork out at least £15 million if they want to sign Maupay this summer after it was revealed that they had slashed a massive £7 million from their original £22 million asking price.

The 22-year-old has been a big hit at Griffin Park since joining from French side Saint Ettiene in the summer transfer window of 2017. In 95 games for the club, Maupay has scored 41, laying on 14 assists along the way as well. Last season, the striker netted an impressive 28 goals across all competitions.

Now, it awaits to be seen who wins the race for Maupay as the start of the new season nears.
